Dr. Tibbits, I realize this blog is essentially for human health. But I have read much about your incredible successes with animals, particularly with regard to osteoarthritis. Several years ago, you wrote a wonderful article about the use of cetyl myristoleate in dogs and the marvelous effect it had on them. I have a 14 year-old German Short-haired Pointer and Border Collie mix who is experiencing quite a bit of difficulty with arthritis pain. We are taking her in for cold laser treatments, which have helped her a lot. We also have her on the joint version of Platinum Performance and fish oil. I use Rimadyl and Tramadol on occasion, but really hate using them. Would your recommend adding cetyl myristoleate as a supplement? And if so, how much for a roughly 40-pound dog? I also read, with great interest, that you were planning on examining the effectiveness of cetyl myristoleate with myelopathy. My sister is extremely distressed right now, because her 12 year-old German Shepard is experiencing deterioration in the use of her back legs due to myelopathy. We are both very holistically oriented and would value your feedback more than you can imagine, if you have the time. Thank you so much, in advance.

Hi Shari,

If you eat clean and do regular workouts with compound and isolation exercises that stress the arms/upper back/chest you should see some great results!

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for the opportunity to answer your question. If I only had 10 minutes a day and wanted to concentrate on my arms I would do push-ups and pull-ups.
There are many variations on both exercises. They are basic but great compound exercises to develop nice shoulders, biceps, triceps, back and abs.

That's as simple and quick as it gets. Easy to find pull-up bars or as you may have seen in my videos mine is made from chain and a large dowel. Then it is
attached to a beam in my shed.

Then I would superset the push-ups and pull-ups and do 3-5 sets of each. I would do this as a short workout 3-5 days a week. And I would do 2 less than failure of each.
Do Pull-ups then Push-ups then rest 1 minute and repeat. Try different styles of pull-ups and push-ups on different days. Give this a month and let me know how you are doing.

Hi Dr. Debra,

I really enjoy your posts, videos and tips! I am a recent convert to the green smoothie and just starting to mix it up and try different combos, so I was very glad to stumble upon your blog and appreciate the opportunity to learn from you. As to your arms, yup, they're amazing - not sure I have a chance at getting quite that fit, but losing 20 pounds with whatever arms I end up with is a fine goal :).

Thanks for helping me get there!

I want simple quick - I don't have much time each day. I work full time, I go to school full time and I still have a family to take care of. Give me 10 minutes each day, that will transform my arms. :)

Hi Dr. Deb.
Just viewed a couple of your smoothie videos, so I'm anxious to try them. Just purchased a good blender and very happy so far but need some good recipes. Pat Lee has me hooked on the green smoothies but my very old standard blender is such a hassle I seldom use it much. Now the new one is forever on my workspace and NOT put "away". Quick, easy to clean, but I needed some ideas so that my drinks do not all taste the same. Thanks, Sydney
